An Australian gold and silversmith, Katie Shanahan a Canberran native and resident, trained at the ANU, School of Art and completed honours in 2007. Katie combines traditional gold and silversmithing techniques to make precious objects in the form of one of a kind custom jewellery. She specialises in bespoke hand crafted pieces that are meant to be worn and cherished everyday and ultimately become apart of the wearers story.

Katie takes inspiration from antiquity aesthetics and seeks to embody a high level of craftsmanship is every piece. Along with using ethically source quality metals and precious gemstones, Katie is also happy to work with heirloom stones to re create into a new piece and extend it’s journey.

Throughout the creative process, Katie feels that the relationship formed with her customers, suppliers, peers and  jewellery, whether its the relationship with the maker or the wearer is ultimately the most important aspect and is a driving force.

Katie happily welcomes appointments to discuss commissions. one on one in person or via correspondence.
